About The Owner

Gary’s journey in early childhood education began 29 years ago when he discovered his passion for working with children as a summer program teacher in Williamson County schools. At just 18 years old, Gary realized his calling and has since dedicated his career to creating community-focused, high-quality early childhood programs in his hometown.

While pursuing a degree in Education, Gary launched a group home childcare program. After two years, he expanded to a larger location on Highway 46 in Bon Aqua. In 2000, Bon Aqua Daycare moved to its current location on Highway 100 in Lyles, designed to better serve families and align with Gary’s vision for early childhood education. His dedication continued with the opening of The Learning Loft Academy in Dickson in 2019 and Loblolly Preschool in Fairview in 2021, which will double in size by Fall 2024.

Gary holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Ashford University. In addition to his work in childcare, Gary has been a public school teacher and a longtime football coach, a role he deeply cherishes. He lives in Bon Aqua, Tennessee, with his three children—Brock, Cooper, and Hillary—and a lively household of dogs, a barn cat, goats, and chickens.

Gary’s mission has always been to provide a strong foundation for children in his community, fostering environments where they can grow, learn, and thrive.
